Edinburgh Festival Carnival 2025
This year's carnival took place on Sunday and we were there for a short time to take photos.
You can see them on our Facebook page.
Fringe in Marchmont
Marchmont Music is putting on its own Fringe events at Marchmont St Giles Church. A series of 10 concerts will be performed by up-and-coming young musicians. The events are supported by The Grange Association, and all are welcome.
Roseburn Cliff - walkway remains closed
Murrayfield Community Council report that the council has informed them of delays in carrying out work on the Water of Leith due to "unforeseen circumstances". The works are intended to prevent the banks from eroding and protect the Water of Leith Walkway. Between Roseburn Cliff and Wester Coates is closed to pedestrians and cyclists meantime.
Cycling news
In September SPOKES will show the 90 minute long cycling documentary MOTHERLOAD at their public meeting. The film is about how a mother, filmmaker Liz Canning cycled everywhere until she had twins. The story explains how she then used a bike as a way of combating isolation, disconnection and her impact on the planet. Local cargo bike organisations such as The Bike Station, Banzai, Porty Community Energy and Cycling Gardeners of Edinburgh will also attend the meeting and talk of their work and experiences in the city. There will be a short Q&A.

Local Place Plan
The three community councils in Leith - Leith Harbour & Newhaven Community Council, Leith Central Community Council, are developing a Local Place Plan for their areas. The plan must be submitted by Autumn 2025.
The three bodies need to contact as many people as possible to hear what their views are on the vision for Leith - there will be one submission by each community council and there are two questionnaires to complete - one now and one in August/September.
The first questionnaire is here - or scan the QR code below.
